About ZakatInvest
ZakatInvest exists because the gap between Islamic finance scholarship and everyday Muslim investors is too wide — and too costly.
Most halal investing resources fall into one of two buckets: highly academic content written for scholars, or oversimplified marketing material written to sell a product. Neither actually helps a Muslim engineer in Toronto, a doctor in Dubai, or a teacher in Cairo figure out whether they can invest in Apple or whether their 401(k) is permissible.
We built ZakatInvest to be the resource we wish existed — practical, honest, and grounded in the actual principles of fiqh al-muamalat rather than a surface-level "no interest, no haram industries" checklist.

Our Approach
We don't offer investment advice, and we don't pretend that halal screening is a simple checkbox exercise. Shariah compliance involves nuance — revenue thresholds, debt ratios, business model analysis — and we try to present that complexity honestly rather than hiding it behind a green checkmark.
We also believe in full transparency: when we include affiliate links, we say so. When our data has limitations, we say that too.
